why?

am I up at 5am? been up since about 3 and finally gave in and just got up to watch some tv. inevitably, I find the Science Channel and the "When we left Earth" documentary series. Too many disasters, too many mistakes repeated. I find it interesting and disturbing how the pattern keeps repeating itself; success, complacency, disaster, resolve to change; shampoo, rinse repeat.

But you know what? I miss it. Not the disasters. nor the bureaucracy that keeps imploding on itself, but the dream, the missions, the real heroes who fight every day to do the impossible and then get up again the next it all over again. There are some good folks in your space program and a future waiting to be written. . . let's hope it's a brighter one.
