I have an excuse now. . .

I accidentally dropped my really nice canon digital SLR and even though it was in its case it broke both uv lens filters (which is what they're supposed to do, they break but the actual lens doesn't) and now I'm getting an error code. I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade equipment and now I have it. Let the research and shopping begin. Pretty sure I wanna stay with the Canon brand but Nikon has some nice digital SLRs too. It won't be tomorrow or next week but some time in the next two months I'll find what I want and upgrade. Plus it's baseball season and so it needs to happen fast.

Also on the upgrade list is a new TV. How big did you say yours was packerslaw? Is it big enough? are you happy with that size? what about sound systems? a new digital Tivo? this is the start of an expensive quest for home theatre perfection. But alas, there are other home expenses first like a new water heater and now I must be off to wal-mart for a step ladder and a/c filter and other misc stuff and I love how one can get cat food, hardware, paint and groceries all in one stop. and yes, they even have bait at our wal-mart.

kitchen appliances recs. . .

for some unknown reason I gave away my old rice cooker. Well actually I know the reason, it was a hand me down and the top was broken and it sat for months in a garage and so it was full of spiders and dirt so yeah, prolly best that I put it in the garage sale pile. but still, that leaves me without a rice cooker and I decided I really like them. Our local wal-mart doesn't seem to carry them so I went online to find one and geez, is there ever a variety of features and prices. As always I started just wanting something basic and cheap but now I'm drooling over the more advanced models. Anyone have any idea on which brands are good?

and I need a new, er rather my first ever crockpot. My sister uses her all the time and it makes the house smell so yummy to have something slow cooking all day. and now that I'll be home again I'll be here to enjoy it. Again, any idea what a good brand is?

and then of course, really good cookware; pots and pans. Something not too heavy (I have weka arms) but something that I can also toss in the oven to do them fancy dishes like on Food Network - ha, as if!

okay, must go relax in the tub and then get ready for my last week of the "rat race" . . . I'll be thinking of you slaw as I curse my way through the last few days of traffic hades and not being able to even start my day until I arrive in cubicle land.
