I must be hungry b/c everything on tv looks so good; that greasy hamburger that guy was eating, subway.  I just ate a whole package of edamame and they were yummy but that was a bit ago and I think I skipped lunch while out running errands.  Sometimes being a multpile computer multiple OS home/office is hard and frustrating.  Still using 2 keyboards and mice b/c I discovered the old puter has ps2 connectors and the new one is all usb - argh.  just got the new puter installed with the shininess that is Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Beta2 and man, is it nice. And I'm not just saying that b/c I work for the company.  If you ever want to try a shiny, easy to use OS with NO viruses - ever, this is the time to think about trying Ubuntu when the 10.04 final release happens on April 29, 2010.

or. . .  if anyone wants an older desktop machine already configured with the new release, let me know. I have 2 spares I'm getting ready to reformat to ubuntu and either donate or give away.

dinner time!

It probably won't mean anything to most folks but I just had my "official" Ubuntu Membership approved! Including an endorsement from Sabdfl himself. Basically it means you've been active in the project for some time and your contributions have been valued by the community. It's a small but important step for me and for other women in the project too.

It's always humbling when you have to ask other folks to vouch for you and they say some really nice things. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelindaLopez Thanks folks!

You'll now be hearing even more about this project and why it's so important to me personally. It's about education, the future, your kids, and freedom.

Oh and don't forget to watch the Oprah special tonight on her Leadership Academy!

Finally found my way to Google NYC after a rather interesting commute. A short walk and it's freezing butt cold outside so you'd think this the place they'd have the heated toilet seats like at the mothership in Mountain View, but alas only free wifi and food. Some folks are never satisfied. ;-)

There are rumors of a party this evening but I have to catch a train back to NJ and Cindy's place so we'll see.

Heading home in the morning so I'll sign off from Geneva now. Mostly repacked and our job here is done. . . for the moment. One last celebratory dinner and obligatory drinking evening to go. I think I have about 20 pounds of chocolate to transport home so all is good with the world. ;-)

Lots of pretty pics to be posted later. . . "The Ubuntu Boy Band" needs to be named. . . safe travels all!

Six hour flight from NYC to Geneva made for a very short nite; that and then there was the obligatory dinner wine and then a pub visit. Walk around the lake sunday was very pleasant despite cold weather. Hotel is "quirky" as another likened it to Fawlty Towers. My room is very, very yellow. Woke up at 1 AM last night and despite much beer and tiredness, could not fall back asleep. Today was a VERY long day capped off by a four hour dinner and then back here (hotel) for some work that had to be in today or else i'd not be paid. most important to get paid.

so now I'm killing the last few minutes of the overpriced wifi. course is going well, lots of material, brain is even more tahred but it's all good stuff. There are many, many banks here. I'm also tempted to open a Swiss Bank account b/c ya know, I will be extremely wealthy one day and it could be useful! Lol - come on, laugh with me. Mmm chocolate. . . later all!
