I'm very much liking. . .

life in the new place. I've finally gotten over that "must be in my desk chair" all the dang day mentality and now take several breaks to do yard stuff, run short errands and such. Now I need to get on a schedule with at least some walking so I'll be ready for the hiking in New Zealand. If only there wasn't so much rain; it's been crazy this year. But even watching the storm gather in the distance is pretty awesome here. The beach view on one side, the state park on another and then the whole thing overlooking the canal is just pretty wonderful.

Last night I saw a lady going through the canal on her kayak so now I know it can be done. She wasn't wearing a life preserver but I certainly will invest in a good one before I venture out on the water. So many toys, so little time. But there is tons of work to do be done too, so that means more money for toys so it all evens out I suppose. Must resist the urge to buy a power boat. . . must resist. . .

Ack, forgot I have a service appointment for my car tomorrow morning so there goes that schedule. At least the dealer has free wifi and and wonderful cappuchino machine but they're giving me a loaner so we'll see what new temptation they offer me to drive. I need to make lunch plans while I'm down there and I'm going to stop at AAA to inquire on some NZ things and get free maps and tour books.
