first ever crockpot meal
Mar. 10th, 2008 11:45 pmSuccess! I think I'm gonna like this crockpot thing. You just toss all this stuff into the pot and smell the goodness all day. Then eat. Since I didn't have all, nay any of the ingredients for Oz's recipe I improvised with various items from my freezer and fridge. And I finally went to the grocery store! First time this year if you can believe it. I spent less than I thought but then I didn't buy and wine or beer. . . and I really wanted to but will do that later.
The main goal was to get there and home before this scary storm passed through. It was one of those spooky, fast moving, sky dark as night, winds like a hurricane, squall lines that makes you reevaluate your tornado hiding place. This house has no interior rooms so this could be an issue. Plus the whole thing is built on stilts so really strong winds can be felt moving the whole house.
I really enjoyed turning off my 6 am daily work alarm last night. . .only I still woke up at 5am but at least was able to go back to sleep for a bit. Finally getting back on my preferred schedule, up early, coffee, yoga, off to work on my sofa. I really need a desktop machine. I'm wired and this is random b/c I just finished some proofing and I'm wide awake and I really need to be getting to bed.
Painted the bathroom - yet again. Discovered half way through that the color is very "toothpasty" but alas it's too late for now; it is done. More general cleaning tomorrow and a teleconference with the new project. Must sleep now and resist the pie that is calling me for dessert.
