it's official. . .
Apr. 25th, 2008 01:47 pmI hate the smell of fresh lavender. Which is a shame b/c it grows so well in my yard. But alas it just stinks. It's advertised as giving off a pleasant scent when brushed against but ugh, not pleasant to my nose. So I dunno what I'm gonna do with these lovely plants; perhaps move them to the far side of the yard? or maybe I should Freecycle them?
I started the new flower/dwarf fig tree bed yesterday and boy am I sore. Then after careful reconsideration I've decided I don't like it's location so will prolly have to move it. They came out and marked all the underground wires in the yard and darn if AT&T doesn't have them all over the front yard. It's doubtful that I'll ever use AT&T for home phone/internet/TV service (they're not out here with U-Verse yet) but still don't want to ever have to dig up even more of the yard.
Taking a break from all things gardening today and starting on some indoor stuff and errands. But geez, already got a few green beans out there. By next week I should have enough for a nice side dish of fresh beans. Got the strawberries planted and they're doing well as are the tomatoes but I need to get some trellises for them' tomatoes that is. Not sure if the fig tree is gonna make it. It came in the mail really dry and it's not sprung back yet.
But alas the swing is now up on the front porch. So this weekend I get to sit back and enjoy the view of manly men (that would be Stephen, Slaw) building a boathouse. across the
