it's a small world after all. . .

dindaNow that I've got that song stuck in your head, isn't it amazing how things just all seem to come together?
So my personal email this morning has a note from Oz that she'll be here next week to meet with the Rice Connexions folks. We'd talked about this before as Rice is my alma mater and Connexions is a great, upcoming Open Source project. Also, I kept thinking to myself that they would integrate well with Ubuntu. So fast forward to my new gig and they are doing some Connexions stuff too. So about 30 minutes after Oz and I make lunch plans then I manage to get myself invited to meet her Connexions guy, I introduce myself to our Connexions guy. Well, yeah, he knows Oz and not only that I mention Ubuntu and he tells me. . . . and I just realized this may not all be ready for public knowledge so I'll just say that we know some of the same folks, and there are some wonderful things in the pike for Connexions and hopefully there will be more interaction with the Ubuntu project too. And maybe I can have a part in helping to make it all happen. And maybe Oz will come to understand Open Source stuff and help usher in a new era of understanding in the publishing world.
and I'm really tired so I go sleep now. . .
