b/c writing things gets them out of my head . . . and b/c you all know how much i "luves" movies (not) here's a quick review of the movies I watched on the flight home.
Get Smart - b/c that Steve guy is kinda cute and I LUVED Maxwell Smart. Wasn't sure how Anne Hathaway as 99 was going to do, but she did ok. Started watching this but couldn't find my noise reduction headphones, even though I had two sets with me so missed the first 30 minutes of audio. It probably wouldn't have helped. The Rock, yummy and yum-E; he should have found an excuse to take his shirt off but alas it was not to be. Liked Alan Arkin as the chief too. Steve - ugh, totally didn't like him in this role or perhaps just the way he played it. It was like he was stuck in wanting to be the real James Bond. The original Get Smart I liked b/c it was kind of like the Pink Panther with the loveable imbecile accidentally being the hero. You cheered for him b/c he was an underdog. Dunno Carrell's performance just seemed off. Did love the dance scene though.
Baby Mamma - b/c Slaw mentioned it once. Greg Kinnear is a lovely man. I was expecting more funny - it did not happen. The whole longing for a baby theme - sad - perhaps too close to home, but the predictable ending - feh. Speaking of feh, I like Tina Fey, she could really be a heck of an actress. Loved the scene where she tells the Greg character, "I'm 37 I know how this works." See, this is why older women are soo wonderful. If'n they wanna do something, they do it, they will let you know in no uncertain terms what they like and when you need to apply it. They will reward you highly for your pursuit once they decide they want to be caught. Oh and Steve Martin - luv him but not with long hair. Did I tell you I wrote a movie for him and PS as brothers? yeah, they just don't know it yet.
Mamma Mia - worst piece of an excuse for a movie evar - EVAR. Even the presence of Pierce Brosnan could not add any redeeming factors to this highly predictable work. But you knew this but as this was my 3rd movie of the flight and I was hoping to fall asleep anyways, I valiantly let the whole thing play out. My goodness, the young new male toys are getting younger and younger every day; that Sky boy looked lovely with his shirt off but I felt like a perv enjoying it too.
and now back to reality - laundry is almost done, need to buy a new cat carrier, need to by a fridge, ready to go home and start the fight again with the insurance adjusters.
