I should be packing. . .
Apr. 10th, 2008 08:20 pmI leave for beautiful Oakland (one of my least favorite airports) in less than 24 hours. yeah! I get to see the new Chez Oz and sleep the sleep of babies on the most comfortable sofa in the world. Boo! I've not even thought about packing but then I do this alot so 20 minutes and I can leave for a trip around the world with one carry-on and my laptop so it's all good.
Speaking of good, this wine I found at wal-mart is way too drinkable. Our local Wal-mart just upgraded their wine aisle from boone's farm and Beringer's White Zin to a whole selection of rather decent wines. Tonight's selection is a Louis Jadot Chardonnay which is way yummy and fits perfectly with the pasta I'm having. I may go back for seconds.
Man, VPN and Citrix can be a witch sometimes. An hour on the phone with someone in San Antonio and still no connection. You'd think they'd have this figured out by now. But alas it's not just me so that was somewhat reassuring to hear that others are having problems.
And to procrastinate further, I'm cleaning. I hate leaving a dirty house and thus coming home to a dirty house so I like to clean before I leave. The place is falling together nicely though slower than I'd like. Too much DIY and HGTV makes you believe everything happens in 30 minutes, but alas I don't have the crew of 30 mexicans that come in during the commercial breaks to do all the manual labor. Only one mexican and she's trying to balance working, playing and home improvement. The cat, she is no help. She will miss me while I'm gone this weekend but she'll survive. We're both enjoying the new bird feeder and I moved a chair over by the big window just so she can sit and enjoy the view toward the bay.
I'm rambling b/c I've had a glass and half of wine. I should pack now. I should clean now. My cat insists I sit here and pet her. I want more food and wine. I have desert waiting; it's strawberry shortcake. Oooh, I planted some strawberry plants today. I should be going to Vegas soon. I will sleep like a baby tonight. . .and pack tomorrow.
